How to Keep Your Dutch Oven Problem Free

1. Its essential that cold water never
be be put into a hot cast iron pot.
The cast iron will crack or warp, making
it useless for future use.

2.Its not a good idea to allow water to sit
inside cast or allow it to sit in water
itself for any lenght of time. Doing so
will cause the cast iron pot to rust.

3. Don't put your empty cast iron pot
over a hot flame. This will cause cast
iron to crack or warp also ruining it.

4. Always allow your cast iron to heat
slowly reducing the chance of burning
your food and damaging the pot.

5. Soap should never be used on cast iron.
The soap will enter the pores of the cast
iron metal. Doing so will taint the taste
of the food cooked in it.
